Official Journal EN of the European Union L series 2024/1567 30.5.2024 POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE DECISION (CFSP) 2024/1567 of 23 May 2024 extending the mandate of the Head of Mission of the European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine) (EUAM Ukraine/1/2024) THE POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 38, third paragraph, thereof, Having regard to Council Decision 2014/486/CFSP of 22 July 2014 on the European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine) (1), and in particular Article 7(1) thereof,
Whereas:
(1) Pursuant to Decision 2014/486/CFSP, the Political and Security Committee (PSC) is authorised, in accordance with Article 38 of the Treaty, to take the relevant decisions for the purpose of exercising political control and strategic direction of the European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform Ukraine (‘EUAM Ukraine’), including the decision to appoint a Head of Mission, upon a proposal of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy (the ‘High Representative’).
(2) On 16 May 2023, the PSC adopted Decision (CFSP) 2023/1024 (2), appointing Mr Rolf Michael Hay Pereira HOLMBOE as Head of Mission of EUAM Ukraine from 12 June 2023 to 31 May 2024.
(3) On 14 May 2024, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2024/1353 (3) extending the mandate of the Mission until 31 May 2027.
(4) On 17 April 2024, the High Representative proposed to extend the mandate of Mr Rolf Michael Hay Pereira HOLMBOE as Head of Mission of EUAM Ukraine from 1 June 2024 to 31 May 2025,
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1 The mandate of Mr Rolf Michael Hay Pereira HOLMBOE as Head of Mission of the European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine) is hereby extended from 1 June 2024 until 31 May 2025.
Article 2 This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
It shall apply from 1 June 2024.
