Political and Security Committee Decision (CFSP) 2024/614 of 13 February 2024 on the acceptance of a third State’s contribution to the European Union military mission to contribute to the training of Somali security forces (EUTM Somalia) (EUTM Somalia/1/2024)

Official Journal EN of the European Union L series 2024/614 16.2.2024 POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE DECISION (CFSP) 2024/614 of 13 February 2024 on the acceptance of a third State’s contribution to the European Union military mission to contribute to the training of Somali security forces (EUTM Somalia) (EUTM Somalia/1/2024) THE POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular the third paragraph of Article 38 thereof, Having regard to Council Decision 2010/96/CFSP of 15 February 2010 on a European Union military mission to contribute to the training of Somali security forces(1),

Whereas:

(1) Pursuant to Article 8(2) of Decision 2010/96/CFSP, the Council authorised the Political and Security Committee to take the relevant decisions on acceptance of the proposed contributions by third States to the European Union military mission to contribute to the training of Somali security forces (EUTM Somalia).

(2) In accordance with the recommendation by the EU Mission Commander of EUTM Somalia on a proposed contribution from the Republic of Moldova and the advice provided by the European Union Military Committee in that regard, that contribution should be accepted and considered to be significant,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

1. The contribution from the Republic of Moldova to EUTM Somalia is accepted and considered to be significant.

2. The Republic of Moldova is exempted from financial contributions to the budget of EUTM Somalia.

Article 2 This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
