Political and Security Committee Decision (CFSP) 2025/686 of 1 April 2025 extending the mandate of the Head of Mission of the European Union Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM Moldova) (EUPM Moldova/1/2025)

Official Journal EN of the European Union L series 2025/686 3.4.2025 POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE DECISION (CFSP) 2025/686 of 1 April 2025 extending the mandate of the Head of Mission of the European Union Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM Moldova) (EUPM Moldova/1/2025) THE POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 38, third paragraph, thereof, Having regard to Council Decision (CFSP) 2023/855 of 24 April 2023 on a European Union Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM Moldova)(1), and in particular Article 8(1) thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Pursuant to Article 8(1) of Decision (CFSP) 2023/855, the Political and Security Committee (PSC) is authorised by the Council, in accordance with Article 38, third paragraph, of the Treaty, to take the relevant decisions for the purpose of exercising the political control and strategic direction of the European Union Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM Moldova), including the power to appoint a Head of Mission upon a proposal of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security policy (the ‘High Representative’).

(2) On 27 April 2023, the PSC adopted Decision (CFSP) 2023/871(2), appointing Mr Cosmin DINESCU as Head of Mission of EUPM Moldova from 25 April 2023 to 24 April 2024.

(3) On 23 April 2024, the PSC adopted Decision (CFSP) 2024/1202(3)extending the mandate of Mr Cosmin DINESCU as Head of Mission of EUPM Moldova from 25 April 2024 to 24 April 2025.

(4) On 20 February 2025, the High Representative proposed to extend the mandate of Mr Cosmin DINESCU as Head of Mission of EUPM Moldova from 25 April 2025 to 24 April 2026,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1 The mandate of Mr Cosmin DINESCU as Head of Mission of the European Union Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM Moldova) is hereby extended from 25 April 2025 to 24 April 2026.

Article 2 This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
