NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 16th July, 2016 S.O. 2449(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (3) of article 77 of the Constitution, the President hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961,

namely:-

1. (1) These rules may be called the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Three Hundred and Twenty Seventh Amendment Rules, 2016.

(2) They shall come into force at once.

2. In the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961,-

(1) in THE FIRST SCHEDULE,-

(a) for the heading “7.Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (Sanchar aur Soochana Praudyogiki Mantralaya)” and sub-headings thereto, the following heading and sub-headings shall be substituted,

namely:- “7. Ministry of Communications (Sanchar Mantralaya)

(i) Department of Telecommunications (Doorsanchar Vibhag)

(ii) Department of Posts (Dak Vibhag)”;

(b) after the heading “10. Ministry of Earth Sciences (Prithvi Vigyan Mantralaya)”, the following heading shall be inserted, namely:- “10A. Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Electroniki aur Soochana Praudyogiki Mantralaya)”;

(2) in THE SECOND SCHEDULE,-

(i) for the heading “MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SANCHAR AUR SOOCHANA PRAUDYOGIKI MANTRALAYA)” the following heading shall be substituted, namely,- “MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATIONS (SANCHAR MANTRALAYA)”;

(ii) under the heading “MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATIONS (SANCHAR MANTRALAYA)” the sub- heading “DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (ELECTRONIKI AUR SOOCHANA PRAUDYOGIKI VIBHAG)" and entries thereunder shall be omitted;

6. Matters relating to promotion and manufacturing of Semiconductor Devices in the country excluding all matters relating to Semiconductor Complex Limited (SCL), Mohali.

7. Interaction in IT related matters with international agencies and bodies e. g. Internet for Business Limited (IFB), Institute for Education in Information Society (IBI) and International Code Council – on line (ICC).

8. Initiative on bridging the Digital Divide: Matters relating to Media Lab Asia.

9. Promotion of Standardization, Testing and Quality in IT and standardization of procedure for IT application and Tasks.

10. Electronics Export and Computer Software Promotion Council (ESC).

11. National Informatics Centre (NIC).

12. Initiatives for development of Hardware/Software industry including knowledge–based enterprises, measures for promoting IT exports and competitiveness of the industry.

13. All matters relating to personnel under the control of the Ministry.

14. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).”.
