(a) the present status of Digital Agriculture Mission (DAM) and the number of farmers benefited through its digital tools, technologies and market linkages across the country, State-wise, particularly in Maharashtra;

(b) the specific steps being taken for the effective implementation of Digital Agriculture Mission in Maharashtra, particularly in rural areas and for small and marginal farmers, to improve access to technology, agriculture-related data and weather forecasts;

(c) whether the Government proposes to expand digital infrastructure in Maharashtra; and

(d) the measures being implemented under Digital Agriculture Mission to effectively address the region-specific challenges in Maharashtra? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ िष एवं िकसान क(cid:670)ाण रा(cid:475) मं(cid:361)ी (SHRI RAMNATH THAKUR)

(a): Under the Digital Agriculture Mission, AgriStack is a digital foundation established to leverage data and digital services in the agriculture sector so that various government schemes can reach eligible farmers more quickly and effectively. It consists of three foundational registries associated with the agriculture sector, i.e., Farmer Registry, Geo-Referenced Village Maps and Crop Sown Registry, all created and maintained by the State Governments/ Union Territories.

AgriStack supports a wide range of digital services, and scheme delivery including accurate targeting of beneficiaries for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) under PM-KISAN, Minimum Support Price (MSP)-based procurement through the Food Corporation of India

(FCI), and booking of Fertilizer. It also enables faster delivery of services, such as disaster relief disbursement, sanctioning of Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loans within half an hour, and improved farmer outreach for participation in procurement schemes. Furthermore, the Farmer ID is being used for enrolment under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), procurement under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) of PM-ASHA, and linking with Soil Health Cards to support crop and input planning. In addition, Digital Crop Survey data is being utilized to generate near real-time crop production estimates.

As of 6th August, 2026, more than 10.33 Crore Farmer IDs have been created across the country, including more than 1.36 Crore Farmer IDs in Maharashtra. The State-wise details of Farmer IDs are given in Annexure – I.Further, during Rabi 2025-26, the Digital Crop Survey (DCS) was conducted in 648 Districts covering more than 31.3 crore plots across the country, including 34,99,974 plots in Maharashtra. The State-wise details of DCS plots are given in Annexure – II.

(b): Farmers can register for a Farmer ID themselves using their mobile phones. However, in Maharashtra, a campaign was undertaken through Common Service Centres (CSCs) to facilitate the creation of Farmer IDs, to ensure that the maximum number of farmers obtain their Farmer IDs at the earliest.

Maharashtra has developed AI-based application, MahaVistar, through which farmers are provided with timely information in their local language on their mobile phones, including weather forecasts, crop management practices, pest and disease management, market information for the sale of agricultural produce, and other agriculture-related advisory services.

(c): As reported by the Government of Maharashtra, the State is expanding and strengthening the digital agriculture infrastructure through the implementation of the AgriStack initiative. It is being utilized for multiple use cases, including implementation of loan waiver schemes, delivery of benefits under agriculture-related schemes through the MahaDBT and PoCRA DBT platforms, disaster relief and rehabilitation, fertilizer distribution, and other Government service delivery mechanisms. These initiatives are aimed at creating an integrated, farmer-centric digital ecosystem for efficient and transparent governance in the agriculture sector.

(d): Under the Digital Agriculture Mission, special measures are being implemented in Maharashtra to ensure the inclusion of farmers from all regions, including those facing region- specific challenges. In this regard, for farmers covered under the Forest Rights Act, 2006

(FRA), the process of generating Farmer IDs has been initiated and as of 4 August 2026, a total of 22,597 Forest Rights holder farmers have successfully registered for obtaining their Farmer ID.
