Will the Minister of PLANNING be pleased to state:

(a) the objectives of the tenth Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog;

(b) the major themes of the National Conference of Chief Secretaries; and

(c) the initiatives announced by the scientists to promote the dissemination of information related to agriculture in the rural areas along with the expected impact of the said initiatives? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE MINISTRY OF STATISTICS AND PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION; MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE MINISTRY OF PLANNING AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE (RAO INDERJIT SINGH) (a & b): The Governing Council (GC) of NITI Aayog, chaired by the Hon'ble Prime Minister and comprising Chief Ministers/ Lt Governors of all States/ Union Territories, serves as the principal forum for formulating a shared vision of the nation's key priorities. The tenth GC meeting of NITI Aayog was held on 24th May 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The agenda for the tenth GC meeting was based on the overarching theme of ‘Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat @2047’, with a focus on ‘Promoting Entrepreneurship, Employment & Skilling – Leveraging the Demographic Dividend’, which was also the theme of 4th National Conference of Chief Secretaries held in December 2024. The thematic areas of the meeting were (i) Manufacturing

and Services: Creating an enabling ecosystem with a focus on Tier 2 and 3 cities; (ii) MSME &

Informal Employment: Rural non-farm and urban opportunities; and (iii) Green Economy:

Renewable energy and circular economy initiatives.

Page 1 of 2(c) Recently, a Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, jointly organized by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare (DA&FW), was conducted from May 29 to June 12, 2025. The objective of the campaign was to bridge gaps in knowledge, research and institutional capacities to ensure tangible benefits for farmers. Scientists from all ICAR institutes, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, State Agricultural Universities and officials of State Agriculture Departments led the campaign across 728 districts, reaching 1.34 crore farmers in 1.4 lakh villages through 60,840 programs conducted by 2,170 teams, actively benefitting rural population especially women and youth. The campaign served as a platform for grassroots engagement, leading to the emergence of farmer innovations, researchable issues, and actionable suggestions for future initiatives and policy planning.
