(a) whether the Harit Sagar Green Port Guidelines are presently applicable only to Major Ports, if so, the details thereof, port-wise;

(b) whether the Government has formulated or proposes to formulate any policy, incentive or compliance framework to promote adoption of green port standards by non-major ports and private terminals, if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government has prescribed any regulatory, tariff or operational framework to encourage the use of shore-to-ship power facilities by domestic and foreign vessels at Major Ports, if so, the details thereof; and

(d) the details of the monitoring mechanism adopted to assess compliance with the Harit Sagar Green Port Guidelines and the progress achieved thereunder? ANSWER MINISTER OF PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS (SHRI SARBANANDA SONOWAL)

(a) to (d) The 'Harit Sagar' Green Port Guidelines, 2023 lay down a broad framework for Major Ports to take various Green initiatives to reduce carbon intensity and to develop environment friendly ecosystem. The port-wise progress made by the Major Ports for compliance of the Harit Sagar Green port Guidelines is placed at Annexure.
