Will the Minister of HEAVY INDUSTRIES be pleased to state:

(a) the details of the current status of implementation of the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) Scheme, Phase I and II and PM E-Drive, State-wise including Karnataka;

(b) the details of the number of electric vehicles supported, charging infrastructure installed, and batteries deployed under the scheme, State-wise including Karnataka, Maharashtra, Bengaluru and Jalgaon Lok Sabha Constituency;

(c) the details of the steps taken to promote indigenous manufacturing of EVs, batteries, and related components under FAME-II and PM E-Drive by manufacturers including from Karnataka;

(d) the details of the funds allocated, released and utilised under FAME, Phase-I and II and PM E-Drive schemes, State-wise including Karnataka;

(e)whether the Government is aware that Karnataka has emerged as the State with the highest number of public charging stations in the country and if so, the steps taken to further scale this infrastructure in Bengaluru; and

(f) the details of the targets set for the next financial year and the long-term strategy for transitioning to electric mobility in the country, State-wise including Karnataka and Jalgaon Lok Sabha Constituency? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF HEAVY INDUSTRIES (SHRI H.D. KUMARASWAMY)

(a), (b) & (d): The details of the funds allocated, released, and utilised under FAME-I, FAME-II, and PM E-Drive schemes, as on 22.07.2026, are as under:

FAME I scheme: 2,81,412 EVs were supported in FAME-I including 15,526 nos. in Karnataka & 36,803 nos. in Maharashtra. The detailed status of the Phase I is given in Annexure I.

FAME II scheme: As on 30.06.2026, FAME-II supported sale of 16,71,606 EVs. Number of EVs supported in Karnataka is 2,58,254 and in Maharashtra is 3,12,835.

5,297 e-buses have been deployed in FAME-II including 1,221 e-buses in Karnataka and 830 e- buses in Maharashtra.

EV Public Charging Stations (EVPCS): As on 01.07.2026, 9,583 EV PCS have been installed under FAME-II, on pan India basis, as under:

PM E-DRIVE Scheme: As on 22.07.2026, the scheme supported sale of 26,54,172 EVs. The current status of the Scheme is given in Annexure III. The details of EVs sold and supported under the Scheme and in Karnataka and Maharashtra are given at Table-3 below:

Further, under FAME-I, FAME-II & PM E-DRIVE, only electric vehicles fitted with advanced batteries are incentivised.-3-

(c): Under FAME-II and PM E-DRIVE, the phased manufacturing programme (PMP) has been mandated to promote indigenous manufacturing of EVs and EV components including battery pack, by manufacturers, including in the state of Karnataka.

(e): As per BHEL dashboard of EV public Charging stations data as on 31.03.2026, Karnataka has second highest number of charging stations in the country i.e. 6,805.

Further, under the PM E-DRIVE Scheme, as on 22.07.2026, an amount of ₹153.10 crore has been approved for deployment of 1,571 chargers in Karnataka.

(f): There are no state-wise or district-wise or financial year-wise targets set under PM E- DRIVE. The total number of EVs targeted for support under all segments of PM E-DRIVE is at Annexure-III.

Further, an amount Rs.2,000 crore has been allocated under PM E-DRIVE for setting up of adequate numbers of EV PCS on pan India basis. *******ANNEXURE-I

3. e-Trucks: As on 22.07.2026, 55 e-trucks have been sold under the scheme.

4. e-Buses: 14,000 e-buses have been allocated as follows:
