Parliament Question: Liveability Index System

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1931 TO BE ANSWERED ON JULY 30, 2026 LIVEABILITY INDEX SYSTEM NO. 1931 SHRI BASTIPATI NAGARAJU:

Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) the timeline fixed for conducting the next assessment under the Liveability Index along with the number of phases proposed for its implementation;

(b) the details of cities proposed to be covered under the Liveability Index assessment, State-wise;

(c) the criteria adopted for assessing liveability along with the weightage assigned to each parameter;

(d) the measures taken by the Government to ensure effective public participation in citizen and user perception surveys and to build the capacity of cities through workshops and training programmes, State-wise; and

(e) the steps taken to ensure timely, transparent and credible completion of the Liveability Index assessment including the mechanisms in place for data validation and independent verification? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS (SHRI TOKHAN SAHU)
