Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to

state:

(a) whether the Government has launched new initiatives under the MY Bharat (Mera Yuva Bharat) platform, including the 'Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme', to promote youth participation, nation- building and awareness against drug abuse among students and young citizens;

(b) if so, the details thereof, including the number of youth registered and participating, State/UT-wise, particularly from rural, tribal and aspirational districts;

(c) whether the Government has formulated any plan to strengthen youth engagement through educational institutions, Nehru Yuva Kendras (NYKs), National Service Scheme (NSS) units and sports organisations by integrating skill development, volunteerism and community service; and

(d) the steps taken/being taken by the Government to ensure equitable participation of youth from remote and Left Wing Extremism-affected districts in such programmes along with the funds allocated and utilised during the last three years and the current year? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF YOUTH AFFAIRS & SPORTS [DR. MANSUKH MANDAVIYA]

(a) The Government has launched several initiatives under the MY Bharat (Mera Yuva Bharat) platform to promote youth participation Page 1 of 4in nation-building, volunteerism, leadership development, civic engagement and social awareness.

The Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme is an initiative that engages youth in universities, colleges, and institutions through interactive sessions, discussions, and activities aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. A total of 175 such programs have been conducted till July-2026 in 175 universities/institutions nationwide engaging 34,500 students.

The Ministry, through MY Bharat, is implementing Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat as a nationwide youth movement towards a Drug- Free India. The campaign commenced with the Youth Spiritual Summit held at Varanasi during 18–20 July 2025, where over 550 youth representing more than 125 spiritual organisations participated, culminating in the adoption of the Kashi Sankalp. The campaign subsequently expanded through Nationwide Youth Spiritual Events at over 2,000 locations (September 2025), the North-East Regional Chintan Shivir at IIM Shillong (May 2026). A nationwide ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’ is launched on 2nd August in which events were organized at more than 28,000 location with participation of more than 1 crore youth by various spiritual organization, community-based organization, MY Bharat and MY Bharat – NSS.

(b) As on date, more than 2.50 crore youth have registered on the MY Bharat platform. State/UT-wise details of registered youth are at Annexure-I. The platform provides opportunities for volunteering, experiential learning, community service, and participation in national initiatives. As on date, 10.93 Lakh+ youth have applied across 1.93 Lakh Volunteer for Bharat programs while 1.24 lakh applications have been recorded in 25,131 Experiential Learning Programmes (ELPs). Additionally, 63 Lakh+ youth have participated in various quizzes, and 1.43 lakh+ essay submissions have been received through the MY Bharat portal from across the country.

(c) The Government promotes youth engagement through MY Bharat, MY Bharat - National Service Scheme (NSS), sports organisations and educational institutions by encouraging volunteerism, experiential learning, leadership development and community participation.

MY Bharat functions as a phygital platform that enables Ministries, educational institutions and organisations to onboard and host Page 2 of 4youth-centric programmes, while also conducting quizzes on diverse themes to promote awareness and participation. The platform facilitates volunteering, experiential learning and community service opportunities for youth across the country.

In addition, MY Bharat and MY Bharat - NSS organise activities relating to environmental conservation, health and sanitation, disaster preparedness, digital literacy, Fit India, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, substance abuse awareness, Viksit Bharat Padyatras, Youth Club Development Campaign, Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat, Vande Mataram Camps, Observance of Days of National and International Importance, Cluster-Level Block Sports Meets and District-Level Sports Meets, Distribution of Sports Material to Active Youth Clubs, Inter-State Youth Exchange Programmes, Experiential Learning Programme (ELP) in Youth Leadership & Community Development, Future Youth Leaders' Bootcamp, Seva Pakhwada, MY Bharat Block-Level Youth Club Conclave, Local Theme-Based Programmes, Viksit Vibrant Village Programme, Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament, Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue- National Youth Festival thereby fostering leadership, civic responsibility and social participation among youth.

The Khelo Bharat Niti, 2025, aligned with the National Education Policy, 2020, integrates sports with education, promotes sports as a career pathway and encourages inclusive participation through sports festivals, competitions and talent identification programmes.

(d) The Government, through MY Bharat, has incorporated several targeted interventions in the Annual Action Plan 2026–27 to ensure inclusive youth participation through nationwide coverage. The funds under the Department of Youth Affairs are allocated scheme- wise and not State/UT-wise. The expenditure on each program is met from the budgetary allocations under the respective schemes in accordance with the approved Annual Action Plan.

Various programs as mentioned above in point ‘c’ are conducted with special emphasis on youth from rural, tribal, border, remote, aspirational and LWE-affected districts through initiatives such as Tribal and Border Area Youth Exchange Programmes, promoting leadership, national integration, exposure, equitable access and socio-economic inclusion.
