2172. Shri Sasikanth Senthil:

Will the Minister of WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT

be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Poshan Tracker records nutrition indicators of children in the country, including stunting, wasting, severe wasting and underweight status, if so, the details thereof;

(b) the number of children recorded under each of the said categories during each of the last three years, State/UT-wise, including Tamil Nadu;

(c) whether any data is maintained for the said State, including the number of children referred for medical care from Anganwadi Centres, district-wise, if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether Anganwadi Centres are equipped with functional growth-monitoring devices/regularly uploading nutrition data on Poshan Tracker in the Tiruvallur Parliamentary Constituency in the said State; and

(e) if so, the details thereof, including funds released for nutrition monitoring, capacity building, data accuracy improvement alongwith the steps taken to strengthen public availability of child nutrition data? (a) to (e): Under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, the ‘Poshan Tracker’ digital application has been rolled out as an ICT based governance tool for monitoring and tracking of all beneficiaries on various indicators. Technology under Poshan Tracker is being leveraged for dynamic identification of stunting, wasting and underweight prevalence among children. The Poshan Tracker application data on Nutrition indicators along with the number of registered children of all States including Tamil Nadu and UTs is available at public dashboard of Poshan

Tracker: https://www.poshantracker.in/statistics.The information on number of children referred for medical care from Anganwadi Centres, district-wise, as provided by the State of Tamil Nadu is placed at Annexure I.

There is a provision of a set of 4 Growth Monitoring Devices (GMDs) (Infantometer and Stadiometer for length and height measurement, Weighing Scale-Infant and Weighing Scale- Mother & Child for weight measurement) at all Anganwadi Centres (AWC) in the country for regular growth measurement of all registered beneficiaries. Further, data entry on Poshan Tracker application of all indicators including growth measurement is done by the Anganwadi Workers using smartphones along with data recharge facility, provisioned under the Mission.

Rs 636.6 crores have been released for State of Tamil Nadu, during Financial Year 2025-26 under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0.
