NOTIFICATION No. 100/GJ-LA/1/2026 (Bye):- WHEREAS, the seat of Shri Govindbhai Raijibhai Parmar in the Legislative Assembly of the State of Gujarat, elected from 111-Umreth Assembly Constituency in the State, has become vacant on 6th March, 2026, by the reason of his death; and

2. WHEREAS, a bye-election is to be held for the purpose of filling the vacancy so caused;

3. NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance of sub section (1) of section 150 and sections 30 and 56 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby- IV-C Ex.-180 180-1180-2 GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE EX., 30-03-2026 [ PART IV-C

(A) calls upon the said 111-Umreth Assembly Constituency in the State of Gujarat, to elect, before the 6th May, 2026 (Wednesday) and in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the rules and orders made thereunder, a person, for the purpose of filling the said vacancy in the Legislative Assembly of the State;

(B) Appoints, with respect to the said election-

(a) the 6th April, 2026 (Monday), as the last date for making nominations;

(b) the 7th April, 2026 (Tuesday), as the date for the scrutiny of nominations;

(c) the 9th April, 2026 (Thursday), as the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures;

(d) the 23rd April, 2026 (Thursday), as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken; and

(e) the 6th May, 2026 (Wednesday) as the date before which the election shall be completed; and

(C) fixes the hours from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, as the hours during which the poll shall, if necessary, be taken on the date specified above for the election.

3. अतः, अब, लोक प्रवतवनवधत्ि अवधवनयम, 1951 (1951 का 43) की धारा 150 की उप-धारा (1), और धारा 30 एििं 56 के अनसु रण में वनिााचन आयोग, एतदव् ाराः- (अ) गजु रात राज्य में उक्त 111-उमरेठ विधानसभा वनिााचन क्षत्रे स े अपक्षे ा करता ह ै वक उक्त अवधवनयम के और तद्धीन बनाए गए वनयमों और वकए गए आदशे ों के उपबन्धों के अनसु ार 6 मई, 2026 (बुिर्ार) से पिू ा राज्य की विधान सभा में हुई उक्त ररवक्त को भरन ेके प्रयोजन से एक व्यवक्त वनिाावचत करें;
