In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1-A) of section 3 of the Tamil Nadu Urban Local Bodies Act, 1998 (Tamil Nadu Act 9 of 1999), the Governor of Tamil Nadu, having regard to the economic, historic or tourist importance, hereby declares his intention to constitute the entire local areas comprised in the Gandarvakottai Village Panchayat as Town Panchayat.
Based on the above constitution, wards will be divided for the next General election.
2. Notice is hereby given that, any person residing within the local area concerned with this Notification or any local authority affected by this Notification, may submit objection, if any, in writing to the Principal Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, Secretariat, Fort St.George, Chennai-600 009. Such objection shall be submitted within six weeks from the date of publication of this Notification in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette and the objections received within the said period will be taken into consideration under clause (c) of sub-section (2) of
section 3 of the said Act.
