STATUTORY INSTRUMENTS 2026 No. 575 EDUCATION, ENGLAND AND WALES The Education (Designated Institutions in Further Education) (No. 2) (Revocation) Order 2026 Made - - - - 1st June 2026 Laid before Parliament 3rd June 2026 Coming into force - - 24th June 2026 The Secretary of State makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 28(1) of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992(1).

Citation, commencement and extent

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Education (Designated Institutions in Further Education) (No. 2) (Revocation) Order 2026 and comes into force on 24th June 2026.

(2) This Order extends to England and Wales.

Revocation

2. The Education (Designated Institutions in Further Education) (No. 2) Order 1993(2) is revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Order) The Education (Designated Institutions in Further Education) (No. 2) Order 1993 (S.I. 1993/562) (“the 1993 Order”) designated Northern College, Barnsley for the purposes of s28(1) Further and Higher Education Act 1992.

Article 2 of this Order revokes the 1993 Order meaning Northern College, Barnsley is no longer designated for these purposes.

A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sectors is foreseen.
