Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations—
(a) may be cited as the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026 (Commencement No.
2) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2026, and
(b) come into force on the day after the day on which they are made.
Amendment of the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026 (Commencement No. 2)
(England) Regulations 2026
2.—(1) The Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026 (Commencement No. 2) (England) Regulations 2026(b) are amended as follows.
(2) In paragraph (e) of regulation 5 (provisions coming into force on 1st September 2026), after “section 67 (establishment of pupil referral units)” insert “, only in so far as it relates to pupil referral units in England(c)”.

2) (England) Regulations 2026 (S.I. 2026/803 (C. 67)) (“the Principal Regulations”).
Regulation 2 amends paragraph (e) of regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations to provide that
section 67 of the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026 (c. 21) is only commenced on 1st September 2026 in so far as it applies to pupil referral units in England.
