Ministry of Information & Broadcasting 72nd National Film Awards for the year 2024 Announced Article 370 bags the Best Feature Film Award Kartik Aaryan & Mammootty adjudged as Best Actor in Leading Role for Chandu Champion & Bramayugam Yami Gautam honoured with Best Actress in a Leading Role award for Article 370 Randeep Hooda Makes a Winning Directorial Debut with Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Award for Best Non-Feature Film bagged by Bhangaar; Ram- Nami gets the award for Best Documentary Blockbusters Kalki 2898 AD, Pushpa: The Rule Part-02, Stree 2, and Amaran Shine at the National Film Awards प्रव तथ: 18 JUL 2026 7:30PM by PIB Delhi The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards for the year 2024 were announced today. The awards recognise the best achievements in Indian cinema across feature films, non-feature films and writings on cinema.

Article 370 won the Best Feature Film award, while Bhangaar was named Best Non-Feature Film and Ram-Nami received the Best Documentary award.

Yami Gautam won the Best Actress in a Leading Role award for Article 370, while Mammootty

(Bramayugam) and Kartik Aaryan (Chandu Champion) shared the Best Actor in a Leading Role award.

Randeep Hooda won the Best Debut Director award for Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, while blockbuster films like Kalki 2898 AD, Amaran, Pushpa: The Rule Part-02, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Stree 2, also bagged major honours, reflecting the diversity and excellence of Indian cinema.

The awards were announced by Shri Jayaraj, Chairperson of the Feature Film Jury, Shri Aseem Sinha, Chairperson of the Non-Feature Film Jury, Shri A.
