Ministry of Heavy Industries As on 10.07.2026, a total of 523 e-buses have been deployed across the country under the PM- eBus Sewa–PSM Scheme प्रव तथ: 04 AUG 2026 6:34PM by PIB Delhi As on 10.07.2026, the PM-eBus Sewa – Payment Security Mechanism (PSM) Scheme covers 27,555 e- buses out of the targeted 38,000 e-buses. Of these, 10,000 e-buses are under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), 14,000 e-buses are under the PM E-DRIVE Scheme of the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), and 3,555 e-buses under various State Government/State Transport Undertaking (STU) initiatives.
As on 10.07.2026, a total of 523 e-buses have been deployed across the country under the PM-eBus Sewa–PSM Scheme. Further, under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme of MoHUA covered under PSM Scheme, 400 e-buses have been allocated to the State of Odisha with no deployment as on 03.08.2026 The government approved the PLI Scheme for Automobile and Auto Component Industry in India (PLI- Auto scheme) with a budgetary outlay of Rs. 25,938 crore for enhancing India’s manufacturing capabilities for Advanced Automotive Products (AAT) on 23.09.2021. The status of implementation of PLI-Auto scheme across all states is as below:- Parameter Cumulative till 31.03.2026 Investment (Rs. cr) 44,326 Incremental Sales (Base Year FY2019-20) (Rs. cr) 52,414 Employment generated (Nos.) 67,820 Incentive disbursed (Rs. cr) 2,386.36 -2- The FAME India Scheme Phase II concluded successfully on 31.03.2024. Although no scheme titled "FAME-III" is currently being implemented, the PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme continues to provide incentives for electric vehicles to acceleratetheir adoption across the country. The PM E-DRIVE Scheme was notified on 24.09.2024 with a total outlay of ₹10,900 crore.
The Ministry of Heavy Industries under the Scheme for Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector has set up 4 Smart Advanced Manufacturing and Rapid Transformation Hub
(SAMARTH) Centres to promote Industry 4.0. The details of the SAMARTH Centres set up by MHI
under the Scheme are as under: i. Centre for Industry 4.0 (C4i4) Lab Pune; ii. IITD-AIA Foundation for Smart Manufacturing, IIT Delhi; iii. I-4.0 India @ IISc, Bengaluru; iv. Smart Manufacturing Demo & Development Cell, CMTI, Bengaluru.
Further, the details of progress made by SAMARTH Centres since January 2023 are as under: i. No. of persons visited: 26,372 ii. No. of persons trained: 33,751 iii. No. of courses/training programmes conducted:332
