JUDICIAL NOTIFICATION THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT MADRAS Amendments to the Rules of the High Court, Madras, Appellate Side, 1965 (R.o.c No. 139627-A/2024/F1) No. SRO C-1/2026.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 122 of the Code of Civil Procedure 1908 (Central Act V of

1908) and all other powers hereunto enabling and with the previous approval of the Government of Tamil Nadu, the High Court of Madras, hereby makes the following amendments to the Rules of the High Court, Madras, Appellate Side, 1965. The amendments shall come into force with effect from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.

Amendments In the said Rules, in Order VIII, -

(i) for Rule 21, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:- "21. Wherever the Court orders, the record shall be prepared by photocopying the lower court records, or by adopting such other means of mechanical reproduction that ensures that integrity and legibility of the original record. The photocopying shall be done on to A4 size paper. Wherever required, the scanning for the purpose of the Madras High Court Digitization Rules, 2022 shall be simultaneously done.";

(ii) for Rule 24, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:- "24. The charges for photocopying, on per page basis, shall be fixed by the Registrar (Administration) and be modified from time to time.".
