NOTIFICATION

Whereas the draft of the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (Scheme of Evaluation) Rules, 2017, which the Government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 33 and 34 of the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board Act, 1966 (Karnataka Act 16 of 1966) read with sub-section (2) of section 22 and sub-section (1) of

section 145 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983 (Karnataka Act 01 of 1995), was published as required by sub- section (1) of section 145 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983 (Karnataka Act 01 of 1995) in Notification No. EP 149 SLB 2020, dated: 28.02.2023 in part IVA of the Karnataka

Gazette dated: 02.03.2023 inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be effected thereby within fifteen days from the date of its publication in the official Gazette.

And whereas the said Gazette was made available to public on 02.03.2023 And whereas no objections and suggestions have been received by the Government.

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 33 and 34 of the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board Act, 1966 (Karnataka Act 16 of 1966) read with sub-section

(2) of section 22 and sub- section (1) of section 145 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983 (Karnataka Act 01 of 1995), the Government of Karnataka hereby make the following rules. namely:- RULES

1. Title and commencement: - (1) These rules m ay be called the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (Scheme of Evaluation) (Amendment) Rules, 2023.

(2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the official gazette.

2. Amendment to Rule 6: - In the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (Scheme of Evaluation) Rules, 2017, in rule 6,-

(i) in sub-rules (1), for the words “two subjects”, The words “three subjects”, shall be substituted; and

(ii) in sub-rule (2), for the words “five percent”, the words “ten percent”, and for the words “two concerned subjects”, the words “three concerned subjects”, shall be substituted.
