Posted On: 01 SEP 2026 8:13PM by PIB Delhi To mark two decades of scientific excellence, innovation, and service to the nation, the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), has officially launched the MoES Foundation Day Quiz: Advancing Earth Sciences, Empowering the Nation, in collaboration with MyGov. The nationwide online competition celebrates the Ministryโs milestone 20th anniversary by encouraging citizens to explore India's major strides in earth system sciences, including weather and climate studies, oceanography, polar studies, and seismology, in alignment with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Quiz Overview and Structure The MoES Foundation Day Quiz offers an engaging, timed format designed to evaluate participants' awareness of India's earth science achievements:
Format: 100 Multiple-Choice Questions.
Time Limit: 300 Seconds (5 Minutes).
Platform: Accessible exclusively via the MyGov portal, where authentication is required.
Attempts: Limited to one entry per participant (via registered mobile number or email ID).
Gratification and Rewards To encourage widespread participation across all age groups and regions, the Ministry has announced key
awards:
Cash Prizes: Top 3 (randomly) selected winners who answer all questions correctly within the 300-second window will receive โน10,000 (Rupees Ten Thousand only) each.
Certificates: Every participant successfully completing the quiz will receive an instant, auto-downloadable digital Certificate of Participation.
Selection Criteria & GuidelinesParticipants can visit the official MyGov Quiz portal and log in using their registered MyGov credentials or authentication details to enter the quiz.
Eligibility: Open to all citizens of India (excluding direct/indirect employees of MoES and MyGov and their immediate family members).
Fair Selection Process: Winners will be chosen from an eligible pool of top-scoring entries via an automated, system-generated randomized process to ensure complete transparency.
