Ministry of Micro,Small & Medium Enterprises National Seminar in Nagpur Focuses on Capacity Building and Growth of MSMEs Around 130 entrepreneurs gain insights on exports, credit, government schemes and business development

Posted On: 24 AUG 2026 4:19PM by PIB Mumbai Nagpur, August 24, 2026 The MSME Development & Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO), Nagpur, organised a National Seminar on Capacity Building for MSMEs on August 21, 2026, at Chitnavis Centre, Civil Lines, Nagpur. The programme was presided over by Dr. V. R. Sirsath, Director, MSME-DFO Nagpur. Shri Faroq Akbani, President, Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce; Shri Julfesh Shah, President, COSIA, Nagpur; and Shri T.

Kulasekharan, Deputy General Manager, SIDBI, Nagpur, attended as Guests of Honour. Senior representatives from DIC, DGFT and ICIB were also present.

The seminar covered key areas including Export-Import Policy, export promotion, credit facilitation, Industrial Policy of Maharashtra, TReDS, cost control and reduction, networking and collaboration, and various schemes of the Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME). The sessions provided entrepreneurs with practical insights into business development, access to finance, export opportunities and institutional support.Around 130 entrepreneurs participated in the programme. A health camp was also organised with the support of Wockhardt Hospital, offering tests including blood pressure, blood sugar and bone density. Maharashtra Gramin Bank displayed its financial products for MSMEs, providing participants an opportunity to learn about available financial support.

The programme served as a platform for interaction among entrepreneurs, government departments, financial institutions and industry representatives, helping strengthen awareness of available support mechanisms for MSMEs. Rotary Club Udyami and the Indian Chamber of International Business (ICIB) supported the programme, which was coordinated by Shri Manish V. K. Jha, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, Nagpur.
