AYUSH NHRIMH Kottayam Organises National Seminar on Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence in Homoeopathy Seminar explores AI-enabled clinical decision support, personalised care and ethical frameworks in Homoeopathic research

Posted On: 31 AUG 2026 5:44PM by PIB Delhi The National Homoeopathy Research Institute in Mental Health (NHRIMH), Kottayam, under the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Ministry of Ayush organised a National Seminar on “Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Clinical Practice and Homoeopathy” today at the NHRIMH Auditorium, Kottayam. Organised under the theme “Where Intelligence Meets Compassion”, the seminar brought together experts, academicians, researchers, clinicians, practitioners and students to deliberate on the emerging applications of AI in healthcare and Homoeopathic research.

Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Ayush, addressed the programme virtually. In his address, the Minister highlighted the growing relevance of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare and the importance of informed discussions on its responsible application, particularly in the field of Homoeopathy.

The inaugural session was addressed by Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Director General, CCRH. He emphasised the need for researchers and academicians to understand both the capabilities and ethical dimensions of AI to ensure its responsible application in healthcare and research.

The deliberations underscored that the adoption of AI in healthcare must be supported by human oversight, scientific validation, data credibility and appropriate ethical safeguards.

On the occasion, nine MoUs were signed with Homoeopathic Medical Colleges and Hospitals to strengthen academic collaboration in psychiatry and mental health. An MoU was also signed with Sevabharathi, Ettumanoor, for interdisciplinary research and institutional collaboration.

Dr. Debadatta Nayak, Assistant Director (Homoeopathy) and Officer-in-Charge, NHRIMH, said that representatives from around 12 Homoeopathic Medical Colleges across India, along with practitioners and faculty members from Kerala, participated in the seminar, providing a platform for academic exchange on AI in healthcare and Homoeopathy.

Dr. K. C. Muraleedharan, Deputy Director General, CCRH, Dr. Janardhanan Nair, Former President, Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB), National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH), and Prof. (Dr.) Eswara Das, Chairman, Regional Scientific Advisory Committee, NHRIMH, Kottayam, alsoaddressed the gathering. The technical programme comprised four sessions focusing on AI in clinical decision support, applications of AI in Homoeopathy, and ethical aspects of AI in clinico-fundamental research.

The seminar reflects the commitment of CCRH and NHRIMH, Kottayam towards scientific innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration and responsible adoption of emerging technologies in Homoeopathic research and clinical practice.
