(a)&(b): Steel demand in India is driven by construction sector, which accounts for 37% of steel consumption, followed by 30% by infrastructure, 17% by engineering, appliances and packaging, 11% by automobile and 5% by the other sectors. Indiaโs finished steel consumption was 164.36 million tonnes in 2025-26. For emission monitoring, the steel sector follows the methodology of Bureau of Energy Efficiency.
