Parliament Question: Establishing Heavy Industries in Maharashtra

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HEAVY INDUSTRIES LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1568 ANSWERED ON 28.07.2026 ESTABLISHING HEAVY INDUSTRIES IN MAHARASHTRA

1568. DR. KIRSAN NAMDEO:

Will the Minister of HEAVY INDUSTRIES be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has received any proposal from the Government of Maharashtra or any public/private enterprise for establishing heavy industries, automobile, electric vehicle (EV), engineering, capital goods or ancillary manufacturing units in the Gadchiroli–Chimur Parliamentary Constituency during the last five years;

(b) if so, the details thereof, project-wise, along with the present status of each of proposal;

(c) whether the Ministry proposes to extend financial assistance, incentives or policy support under its various schemes to promote heavy manufacturing and EV component industries in the Gadchiroli district, considering its emerging industrial and mineral potential; and

(d) whether the Government has conducted any assessment regarding the employment generation potential through heavy industries in the Gadchiroli–Chimur Parliamentary Constituency and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR HEAVY INDUSTRIES (SHRI BHUPATHIRAJU SRINIVASA VARMA)

(a): No such proposal has been received in this Ministry.

(b): Does not arise.

(c): The Ministry of Heavy Industries administers various schemes to promote domestic manufacturing and EV industries, which are pan-India Schemes and not region specific.

(d): No such assessment has been conducted by this Ministry. *******
