Will the Minister of STEEL be pleased to state:
(a) the committed investment, actual investment realised and incentive disbursed to date under the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for Specialty Steel, company-wise;
(b) the number of approved applicants at risk of deselection for missing the annual incremental production/investment threshold in two consecutive years;
(c) the funds allocated, sanctioned, released and utilised under the scheme since its 2023-24 launch; and
(d) the progress in import substitution of specialty steel grades achieved so far against the scheme's stated targets? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE (SHRI BHUPATHIRAJU SRINIVASA VARMA) MINISTRY OF STEEL
(a)to(d): The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Specialty Steel has been approved with a financial outlay of ₹6,322 crore. The participating companies have committed investments of ₹56,106 crore. As on 30 June, 2026, actual investment of about ₹26,320 crore has been made by the participating companies and cumulative incremental production and import substitution of about 3.7 million tonnes has been achieved under the Scheme. Incentives amounting to ₹235.7 crore have been disbursed to eligible companies. The projects are reviewed periodically vis-à-vis the investment and production commitments, incentive claims and other provisions of the Scheme guidelines.
