1528. SHRI MALVINDER SINGH KANG:
Will the Minister of HEAVY INDUSTRIES be pleased to state:
(a) whether the State of Punjab has received financial assistance under various industrial promotion schemes of the Ministry during the last two years;
(b) the details of funds allocated, sanctioned and released scheme-wise;
(c) whether the State of Punjab has received a proportionate share of Central assistance compared to other States, if not, the reasons therefor; and
(d) whether the Government proposes to enhance allocations and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR HEAVY INDUSTRIES (SHRI BHUPATHIRAJU SRINIVASA VARMA)
(a) to (c): In order to create a strong and global competitive capital goods sector, Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) has notified Scheme on Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector- Phase-II on 25th January, 2022. This is a pan India demand driven Scheme.
Under the Scheme, a project has been sanctioned for the Augmentation of the existing Testing and Certification Facility at the Institute for Auto Parts and Hand Tools Technology
(IAHT), Ludhiana to strengthen the existing testing and certification infrastructure. Out of the MHI contribution of Rs. 8.12 crore towards the total project cost of Rs. 10.15 crore, Rs. 2.86 crore (approx.) in the FY 2024-25 and Rs. 1.42 crore (approx.) in the FY 2025-26 have been released.
