(a)to(d): Steel is a deregulated sector. Decisions regarding modernization and expansion of production capacity are taken by the concerned steel company based on techno-commercial considerations, commercial viability, market demand, and the availability of resources.
Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has approved the expansion of the Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) from 6.8 MTPA to 10.2 MTPA crude steel capacity.
To enhance the production of value-added steel and improve operational efficiency, Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) has undertaken various steps which includes technology upgradation, modernization of production facilities, digitalization, process optimization, energy efficiency measures and increased focus on the production of value-added steel for strategic sectors.
