Will the Minister of FISHERIES, ANIMAL HUSBANDRY AND DAIRYING be pleased to
state:
(a) the details of projects sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) in each Union Territory during the last five years, UT-wise:
(b) the total funds allocated, released and utilized under PMMSY in each Union Territory during the said period;
(c) whether the Government has received proposals from the Union Territory Administrations for fisheries infrastructure, value addition, mariculture, ornamental fisheries, and livelihood enhancement under PMMSY, and if so, the details and status thereof, UT-wise; and
(d) the steps taken by the Government to strengthen the fisheries sector and improve the income and livelihood of fishermen in the Union Territories, particularly in island Union Territories including Lakshadweep? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF FISHERIES, ANIMAL HUSBANDRY AND DAIRYING (SHRI RAJIV RANJAN SINGH ALIAS LALAN SINGH)
(a) to (d): The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) implemented with effect from FY 2020-21 has accorded approvals to the proposals of Union Territories of Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Daman, Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi amounting to Rs.1032.66 crore with a central share of Rs. 844.37 crore for development of fisheries and aquaculture sector in the Union Territories. The UT-wise details of the projects approved, fund released and utilised are furnished below:(Rs. in crores) Sl. The UT of Chandigarh has not taken up any project under PMMSY. The UT-wise details of the key projects approved under PMMSY are furnished at Annexure-I.
