Parliament Question: Training by Krishi Vigyan Kendras

2693. SHRI BALYA MAMA SURESH GOPINATH MHATRE:

Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृषि और ककसान कल्याण मंत्री be pleased to state:

(a) whether the details of the training programmes organised by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra

(KVK), Thane district, for the farmers of the Bhiwandi area during the last five years are available and if so, the details thereof, year-wise;

(b) whether the Government is considering setting up of a sub-centre or extension centre of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra for the convenience of farmers in the Bhiwandi area;

(c) the number of farmers from the Bhiwandi area who have been imparted training in modern agriculture, horticulture, natural farming, organic farming and animal husbandry by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra during the last five years; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृषि और ककसान कल्याण राज्य मंत्री (SHRI BHAGIRATH CHOUDHARY)

(a), (c) & (d): Yes. Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of Thane district organized various awareness and training programmes in Bhiwandi area since 2022. In all, 3434 farmers participated in these capacity development programmes. Major thematic areas covered were scientific jasmine cultivation, orchard management, organic vegetable cultivation, bio-inputs preparation and their use in natural farming, integrated pest management, clean milk production, processing and value addition of milk, scientific goat rearing, silage making, etc. Year wise number of farmers of Bhiwandi area participated in programmes is given in Annexure-I.
