Ms. No. 202, Animal Husbandry, Dairying, Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare (Fs2-2), 20th November 2025, காார்த்திகைகா 4, விசுவாாவாசு, திருவாள்ளுவார் ஆண்டு-2056.] No. SRO B-60/2025.—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following Re-issue the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu General Service (Section 16 in Volume II of the Tamil Nadu Services Manual).

In the said Special Rules,-

(1) In Part I, for the heading “Class XLVI-Personal Assistant in Fisheries Department” the expression the following heading shall be substituted, namely:- “Class XLVI-Deputy Director of Fisheries (Administration) and Assistant Director of Fisheries (Administration) in Fisheries Department.”;

(2) In Part II, for the heading “CLASS XLVI – Personal Assistant in Fisheries Department” and the rules thereunder,

the following heading and the rules shall be substituted namely:- CLASS XLVI – DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF FISHERIES (ADMINISTRATION) AND ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF FISHERIES (ADMINISTRATION) IN FISHERIES AND FISHERMEN WELFARE DEPARTMENT

1. Constitution.—The Service shall consist of the following categories of posts namely:- Category 1 - Deputy Director of Fisheries (Administration) Category 2 - Assistant Director of Fisheries (Administration)

2. Appointment.—(a) Appointment to the categories posts specified in column (1) of the table below shall be made by the method specified in the corresponding entries in column (2) thereof:- The Table Category Method of appointment

(2) Assistant Director of By recruitment by transfer from among the holders of the Fisheries post of Superintendent in Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare

(Administration) Department in the Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service.

(b) Preparation of annual list of approved candidate.- For the purpose of drawing up of the annual list of approved candidates for appointment to categories by promotion and recruitment by transfer, the crucial date on which the candidate should be qualified shall be the first September of every year.

(c) Appointing Authority.- The appointing authority for the categories specified in column (1) of the table below shall be the authority specified in column (2) thereof:- The Table Category Appointing Authority

3. Qualifications.- No person shall be eligible for appointment to the categories specified in column (1) of the table below, by the methods specified in the corresponding entries in the column (2) unless he possess the qualifications specified in the corresponding entries in the column (3) thereof:- The Table Category Method of appointment Qualification

4. Probation.- Every person appointed to the category 2 of the services by recruitment by transfer shall, from the date on which he joins duty, be on probation for a total period of one year on duty within a continuous period of two years.

5. Savings: Nothing contained in these rules shall adversely affect the interests of the persons holding the posts as on the date of issue of these rules.
