ORDER: No 110, Legislative Assembly Secretariat, dated 4th June 2026.
In the Secretariat order first read above, DR. K. Srinivasan, Secretary, Legislative Assembly Secretariat and Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly was granted an extension of service on public grounds for a period of three years from
01.12.2023 subject to the outcome of W.P. Nos. 3856/2018 and 4394/2018 pending before the High Court of Madras.
2. In the Secretariat order second read above, the permanent post of Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Secretariat and Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly was upgraded as Principal Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Secretariat and Principal Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in the level of pay of Rs.1,28,900 - 2,61,000 (Level 32) with effect from 1.12.2023 F.N., keeping in abeyance the post of Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Secretariat and the Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.
3. In the Secretariat order third read above, it was ordered that the post of Principal Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Secretariat and the Principal Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly will automatically be down-graded as Secretary, Legislative Assembly Secretariat and Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly as and when DR. K. Srinivasan ceases to hold the post.
4. In the letter fourth read above, DR. K. Srinivasan, Principal Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Secretariat has requested to permit him to retire from service with effect from 02.06.2026 due to personal reasons.
5. The Governor of Tamil Nadu in consultation with the Speaker, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, orders to terminate the extension of service of DR. K. Srinivasan as Principal Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Secretariat and Principal Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly with effect from 02.06.2026 A.N. and permit him to retire from service on the Afternoon of 02.06.2026.
6. Accordingly, the post of Principal Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Secretariat and the Principal Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly is down-graded as Secretary, Legislative Assembly Secretariat and Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly with effect from 03.06.2026.

The Governor of Tamil Nadu in consultation with the Speaker, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, orders the following appointment under rule 17 (a) (i) of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Secretariat Service Rules:-July 22, 2026] TAMIL NADU GOVERNMENT GAZETTE 27 "Tmt. R. Santhi, Special Secretary is temporarily promoted and appointed as Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Secretariat and Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in the level of pay of Rs. 128900-261000 (Level-32) and other allowances admissible to the post from time to time with effect from the date of assumption of charge vice DR. K. Srinivasan, Principal Secretary permitted to retire from service on 02.06.2026 on termination of extension of service granted to him, vide Secretariat Order read above".
