A Regulation to provide for a bench of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh in Ladakh and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
In exercise of the powers conferred by article 240 of the Constitution read with 34 of 2019. sub-section (2) of section 58 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019,
the President is pleased to promulgate the following Regulation made by her:—
1. (1) This Regulation may be called the Union territory of Ladakh (Sitting of Short title, Bench of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh in Ladakh) extent and commencement.
Regulation, 2026.
(2) It extends to the whole of the Union territory of Ladakh.
(3) It shall come into force on such date as the Administrator may, by
notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
Explanation.––For the purposes of this sub-section, the expression “Administrator” means the Administrator of the Union territory of Ladakh appointed by the President under article 239 of the Constitution.2 THE GAZETTE OF IND2I A EXTRAORDINARY [Part II— Sec. 1] Principal seat 2. (1) The principal seat of the common High Court shall be at the same place and sitting of at which the principal seat of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh is bench of common High located before the commencement of this Regulation.

(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), the Judges and division courts of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh may also sit at such place in the Union territory of Ladakh as the Chief Justice may, with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, appoint.
(3) The Chief Justice of that High Court may, in his discretion, order that any case or class of cases arising in the Union territory of Ladakh shall be heard at Srinagar or Jammu, as the case may be. ———— ________ President.
