NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 18th June, 2015 No A-12015/1/2015-HR/CCI.—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (d) sub-section (2) of Section 64, read with sub-section (3) of section 17 of the Competition Act, 2002 (12 of 2003) the Competition Commission of India hereby makes the following regulations to amend the Competition Commission of India (Procedure for Engagement of Experts and Professionals) Regulations, 2009, namely:—

1. Short title and commencement.–

(1) These regulations may be called the Competition Commission of India (Procedure for Engagement of Experts and Professionals) Amendment Regulations, 2015.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Competition Commission of India (Procedure for Engagement of Experts and Professionals) Regulations, 2009 (hereinafter referred to as the principal regulations)1 :—

(I) in the principal regulations—

(a) in Regulation 6 the following proviso shall be added above the existing proviso:- “Provided that as and when the remuneration to be paid by the Commission to different categories of experts and professionals including research associates is increased by an amount through amendment in Schedule III, the remuneration of existing experts and professionals including research associates shall also be increased by such amount (amount of increase in remuneration category-wise). Remuneration of existing experts and professionals including research associates shall mean the lump sum monthly remuneration received by such existing experts and professionals including research associates [including increment(s) upon renewal of contract(s), if any].”

(b) in the existing proviso in Regulation 6, after the word ‘Provided’ the word ‘further’ shall be added.

(c) in Schedule III, for the entries in columns relating to “Level of expert and professionals” and “Lump sum monthly remuneration” the following entries shall be substituted, namely:— Level of expert and professional Lump sum monthly remuneration including research associate I ```` 40,000 with 10 per cent increase on completion of each year.

II ```` 60,000 with 10 per cent increase on completion of each year.

III ```` 85,000 with 10 per cent increase on completion of each year.

IV ```` 110, 000 with 10 per cent increase on completion of each year.
