Ministry of Home Affairs Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah welcomes Union Cabinet’s decision enabling sitting of bench of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir in Ladakh The High Court Bench will significantly improve access to justice for citizens living in remote areas of Ladakh The Government is fully committed to the all round development of Ladakh and to ensuring constitutional safeguards प्रव तथ: 20 AUG 2026 7:40PM by PIB Delhi Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah welcomed the decision of the Union Cabinet, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, enabling sitting of bench of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir in Ladakh.

In a post on X, Shri Amit Shah said, “The Union Cabinet under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India took a historic decision enabling sitting of bench of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir in Ladakh. This will significantly enhance access to justice for citizens living in remote areas of Ladakh by reducing the time required to avail themselves of the legal services they are entitled to. The Government is fully committed to the all round development of Ladakh and to ensuring constitutional safeguards.” The Union Cabinet, under the leadership of the PM Shri @narendramodi Ji, has decided to set up a bench of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir in Ladakh.
