Posted On: 15 OCT 2026 2:15PM by PIB Delhi Marriage is not only the union of two individuals but also an opportunity to strengthen mutual respect, equality and harmony within society. For Mr. Aditya Sadhu Sawant and Mrs. Khushi Pravin Shaha, their inter-caste marriage was a conscious step towards promoting these values and building a future founded on mutual understanding and social equality.

After their marriage on 1st June 2026, the couple faced financial and social challenges while establishing their new household. Like many newly married couples, they needed financial stability to meet their daily needs, purchase essential household items and plan for their future. During this important phase of their lives, the Government’s Inter-Caste Marriage Incentive Scheme provided them with valuable support.

The financial assistance received under the scheme helped the couple begin their married life on a stronger footing. It enabled them to purchase essential household items, manage everyday expenses and take initial steps towards securing their financial future. This timely assistance eased some of the financial pressures associated with setting up a new household and gave them greater confidence to move forward.

The support extended under the scheme also encouraged the couple to work towards a stable, independent and self-reliant future. For them, the assistance was not merely financial aid; it represented institutional encouragement for their decision to uphold equality and challenge caste-based social barriers.

The experience of Mr. Aditya Sadhu Sawant and Mrs. Khushi Pravin Shaha highlights the importance of government initiatives that support inter-caste marriages and encourage social integration. By extending financial assistance to eligible couples, the scheme provides practical support as they begin their lives together and contributes to the broader objective of reducing caste-based discrimination.Inter-caste marriages bring individuals and families from different social backgrounds together, creating opportunities for greater understanding, acceptance and mutual respect. Initiatives such as this help reinforce the values of fraternity, unity and equality that form the foundation of an inclusive society.

Expressing their gratitude, the beneficiary couple thanked the Government of Maharashtra and the Social Welfare Department for implementing a scheme that supports couples taking a progressive step towards social harmony. They expressed hope that many more couples would benefit from the initiative and receive the encouragement needed to build secure, happy and empowered lives.

The journey of Mr. Aditya Sadhu Sawant and Mrs. Khushi Pravin Shaha demonstrates how targeted government assistance can help newly married couples overcome initial financial challenges while advancing the larger cause of social equality. Their story reflects the importance of fostering a society where relationships are guided by mutual respect, dignity and shared aspirations rather than caste-based distinctions.

Their journey is a testament to the belief that equality begins with individual choices and grows stronger through supportive public initiatives.
