(i) गोवा, उत्तर प्रिेि, और पंिाब राज्यों तथा उत्तराखंड राज्य के जहमाच्छादित क्षेत्रों से जभन्न क्षेत्रों में िनसंख्या की िनगणना 1 दिसंबर, 2026 स े4 िनवरी, 2027 तक की िाएगी तथा इसका पुनरीक्षण िौर 5 िनवरी, 2027 से 9 िनवरी, 2027 तक होगा;

(ii) उपयुाि िनगणना के संचालन के जलए, घर-घर िाकर िनसंख्या की गणना िरूु होने स े िीक पहले 16 नवंबर, 2026 से 30 नवंबर, 2026 तक स्ट्व-गणना का जवकल्प उपलब्ध होगा;

NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 5th September, 2026 S.O. 4729(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Census Act, 1948 (37 of 1948) read with rules 6A and 6D of the Census Rules, 1990, the Central Government hereby declares that-

(i) The conduct of Census of the population shall be undertaken in the States of Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and areas other than snow-bound areas of the State of Uttarakhand, from 1st December, 2026 to 4th January, 2027 with a revisional round from 5th January, 2027 to 9th January, 2027;

(ii) For the conduct of the above Census, there shall be an option for self- enumeration from 16th November, 2026 to 30th November, 2026 just before the start of house-to-house population enumeration;

(iii) The reference date for the Census in the States of Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and areas other than snow- bound areas of the State of Uttarakhand shall be 00.00 hours of the 5th day of January, 2027.
