(a) Under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM), funds of Rs. 736.16 Crore has been allocated/released in the financial year 2025-26 to different States/UTs by the Central Government for development and promotion of Ayush system and out of that, an amount of Rs. 24.15 Crore has been released to State of Uttar Pradesh. Under NAM, district-wise funds are not being released.
(b) Public Health being a State subject, setting up of new Ayush Wellness Centres/Ayushman Arogya Mandirs/Unani Centres comes under the purview of respective State Government.
However, under NAM, there is a provision of financial assistance to the State/UT Governments 1including Uttar Pradesh for operationalization of Ayush Health & Wellness Centres now renamed as Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) [AAM(Ayush)] by upgrading existing Ayush Dispensaries and Health Sub centres. As per the proposals received from the State Government of Uttar Pradesh through State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs), Ministry of Ayush has approved 1034 AAM (Ayush) in different parts of the Uttar Pradesh including 11 AAM (Ayush) in Sultanpur district and as reported by them all are operational.
(c) As Public Health is a State subject, the primary responsibility to fill up the posts of doctors and other supporting staff in Ayush Wellness Centres/Ayushman Arogya Mandirs/Unani Centres in Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh comes under the purview of respective State Government.
As reported by State Government of Uttar Pradesh, 9 Medical Officer, 5 Pharmacist, 8 Attendant and 3 Sweeper/Chaukidar have been deployed under AAM (Ayush) in Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. ***** 2
