880. SHRI AMARSING TISSO:
Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:
(a) whether any Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Clusters and Common Facility Centres (CFCs) have been sanctioned or established under the Micro and Small EnterprisesโCluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) in Karbi-Anglong and Dima-Hasao districts of Assam during the last five years;
(b) if so, the details thereof, including the infrastructure created such as testing laboratories, training centres, design centres, incubation facilities and shared production facilities provided so far;
(c) whether these clusters have been integrated with supply chains, vendor development programmes and export-oriented production systems and if so, the details thereof; and
(d) whether the Government proposes to establish additional MSME Clusters and Common Facility Centres for bamboo, cane, handloom, handicrafts, agarwood, food processing and other locally significant industries in Karbi-Anglong and Dima-Hasao and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (SUSHRI SHOBHA KARANDLAJE)
(a) to (d): The Micro and Small EnterprisesโCluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) is a demand-driven Central Sector Scheme of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
(MSME). During the last five years, no Common Facility Centre (CFC) has been sanctioned under the Scheme in Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao districts of Assam, as no proposal was received from the State Government.
MSE-CDP is a demand driven scheme and does not earmark district-specific projects.
Proposals for establishment of CFCs or Infrastructure Development projects, including those relating to bamboo, cane, handloom, handicrafts, agarwood, food processing and other locally significant industries are considered for assistance under the Scheme, subject to receipt of complete proposals from the State Government/UTs and their appraisal subject to viability in accordance with the extant Scheme Guidelines.
