Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:
(a) the extent to which AYUSH products and services have been promoted Globally through international cooperation;
(b) whether the Government proposes to open AYUSH Wellness Centre in foreign countries;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(a) to (d) A Statement is laid on the Table of the House.
1THE STATEMENT REFERRED IN REPLY TO PARTS (A) TO (D) IN RESPECT OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 300 FOR REPLY ON 07.08.2026 REGARDING OPENING OF AYUSH WELLNESS CENTRE ABROAD
(a) Ministry of Ayush is implementing the central sector scheme for Promotion of International Cooperation for Ayush including Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy. Under this scheme the Ministry provides support to Indian Ayush drug Manufacturers/ Ayush Service providers to give boost to the export of Ayush products and services; facilitates the International promotion, development and recognition of Ayush systems of medicine; foster interaction of stakeholders and market development of Ayush at international level; promote academics and research through the establishment of Ayush Academic Chairs in foreign countries and holding training workshop/symposiums for promoting and strengthening awareness and interest about Ayush Systems of Medicine at international level.
Ministry of Ayush has Signed 27 Country to Country MoUs, 16 Ayush Chair MoUs and 57 Institute to Institute level MoUs for the international promotion and propagation of Ayush systems.
These collaborative initiatives have contributed to increased awareness and acceptance of Indiaโs traditional systems of medicine over the recent years, which has led to significant increase in exports of these products from India. As per data received from Exim Bank (based on DGCI&S data), Indiaโs exports of Ayush and herbal products have increased from โน4,563.5 crore (approximately US$ 612.1 million) in 2021-22 to โน5,639.2 crore (approximately US$
638.7 million) in 2025-26, registering a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.4% (in โน terms) during this period.
(b) to (d) The Government promotes the global expansion of Ayush through bilateral and multilateral cooperation. The proposals for strengthening / establishing of new Health Centre/ Institution in foreign countries may be considered on the basis of mutual cooperation with the partner country on mutual consensus under the central sector scheme for Promotion of International Co-operation in Ayush. Further, the following have been announced:
โข Centre of Excellence for BIMSTEC countries to promote research and dissemination of traditional medicine, covering South and South-East Asia. โข Collaboration with Japan aimed at integrating science, traditional practices and health.
โข Establishment of an Ayush Centre of Excellence in Mauritius to be jointly implemented by India and Mauritius. ***** 2
