Will the Minister of INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING be pleased to state:
(a) the total number of applications received and participants enrolled under Phase I of the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Skilling Initiative;
(b) the total number of participants who have completed Phase I of the programme;
(c) the total number of participants that have enrolled for Phase II of the programme;
(d) the details of the Phase I and Phase II curriculum of the programme including course duration and modules covered; and
(e) the agency/organisation responsible for developing the curriculum, the role of the Government in curriculum design and key findings of the needs assessment or skill- gap study on the basis of which the programme was developed? (a) to (e):
The total number of applications received, and participants enrolled under Phase I of the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Skilling Initiative as on date is 60,253.The total number of participants who have completed 2 Modules of Phase I of the programme are 4620 and those who have completed all 4 Modules of Phase I of the programme are 552.
Phase I of the programme comprises four modules with a total duration of 33 hours, delivered through two learning platforms. The details of the Modules of Phase I are as
under:- Platform 1: โข Module 1: AI Essentials โ gain practical skills to boost daily productivity, synthesize data, and create content. โข Module 2: Prompting Essentials โ framework to write professional prompts.
Platform 2: โข Module 3: Introduction to Generative AI โ grasp Large Language Model (LLM) fundamentals and responsible AI guidelines. โข Module 4: Generative AI Leader โ master workflow automation and strategic Gen AI organisational transformation.
The details of Phase II, including the curriculum, modules and course duration, are under finalisation.
The curriculum has been jointly designed and developed by the IICT and private sector partners to impart foundational and practical AI skills. The advanced skilling component is conducted by IICT for joint certification.
The Governmentโs role has been to provide strategic direction and facilitating the implementation of the programme through IICT with the objective of enhancing AI literacy and equipping students with industry-relevant digital skills.
