Parliament Question: Posting of Yoga Science Professors

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF AYUSH LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO - 3305 ANSWERED ON- 07.08.2026 POSTING OF YOGA SCIENCE PROFESSORS †3305. DR. RAJESH MISHRA

Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Union Government is considering posting of Professors and Assistant Professors of Yoga Science across all universities and colleges;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the details and the total number of Institutions in which Professors and Assistant Professors of Yoga are currently posted in Madhya Pradesh;

(d) whether any recruitment drive for Yoga Professors is scheduled in the future; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF THE MINISTRY OF AYUSH (SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV)

(a) & (b) At present, there is no proposal in Ministry of Ayush for considering posting of Professors and Assistant Professors of Yoga Science across all universities and colleges.

(c) Such institution-wise information regarding Professors and Assistant Professors of Yoga posted in universities and colleges in Madhya Pradesh is not maintained centrally by the Ministry of Ayush.

(d) & (e) No, recruitment to teaching posts in universities/colleges is undertaken by the respective institutions/competent authorities in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations. ***** 1
