Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the programmes and projects implemented so far by the Union Government for the development and promotion of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy
(AYUSH) systems in the Jammu Parliamentary Constituency, stream-wise;
(b) the total number of AYUSH hospitals, dispensaries, Yoga and Wellness Centres, AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres and other AYUSH institutes operational in the Jammu Parliamentary Constituency along with the details of expansion and upgradation carried out therein during the last three years;
(c) whether the Government has launched any special scheme or initiative to integrate AYUSH services with the modern healthcare system, increase the availability of AYUSH doctors and provide quality AYUSH services to the general public in the Jammu Parliamentary Constituency; and
(d) if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF THE MINISTRY OF AYUSH (SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV)
(a) and (b) Public Health being a State subject, the primary responsibility of the projects implemented so far for the development and promotion of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) systems in the Jammu Parliamentary Constituency, stream-wise lies with the respective UT Government. However, Ministry of Ayush is implementing the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM) since 2014 through State/UT Governments including J&K and supporting their efforts for overall development and promotion of Ayush systems by providing financial assistance under different activities including infrastructure development and supply of medicines for Ayush health facilities as per provision of NAM guidelines against the proposals received through State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs).Stream-wise details of programmes and projects implemented by UT Govt. of J&K for the development and promotion of Ayush Systems in the Jammu Parliamentary Constituency, is enclosed at Annexure-I. Further, total number of Ayush Hospitals, dispensaries, Yoga & Wellness Centres, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) (Ayush), Other Ayush Institutions, and their Expansion/Upgradation in the Jammu Parliamentary Constituency during last three years is furnished at Annexure -II.
(c) and (d) To promote traditional systems of medicine and wellness in the country, the Government of India has adopted an integrated strategy of co-location of Ayush facilities at Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), and District Hospitals
(DHs), thereby enabling patients to choose from different systems of medicine under a single- window service. As reported by the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, in respect of the Jammu Parliamentary Constituency, 77 PHCs, 02 CHCs, 04 DHs, and one Associated Hospital (AH) have co-located Ayush facilities within existing public health institutions. At these facilities, Ayush services, including the provision of free Ayush medicines under the National Ayush Mission (NAM), are being provided to patients under one roof through Ayush Doctors and Pharmacists engaged under the National Health Mission (NHM).
