Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:
(a) the present status of the Coimbatore-Erode-Tiruppur City Economic Region identified under the Union Government's economic cluster development initiatives, including the details of projects under consideration, approved, sanctioned or allocated, if any.
(b) the details of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) reform-cum-results-based financing proposed for the region, along with the milestones prescribed for release of assistance and implementation of projects;
(c) the details of logistics, industrial connectivity, freight movement, economic infrastructure supporting exports and urban infrastructure projects proposed or sanctioned for the Erode industrial cluster,
(d) whether the Certified Emission Reduction (CER) framework envisages integrated urban infrastructure, logistics, industrial connectivity and common infrastructure facilities for strengthening the competitiveness of the textile, engineering, agro-processing and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sectors located in Erode, Tiruppur and Coimbatore and if so, the details thereof, and
(e) the timeline envisaged for completion of the approved projects and operationalisation of the proposed financing and infrastructure mechanisms in the Coimbatore-Erode-Tiruppur Economic Region? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (SUSHRI SHOBHA KARANDLAJE)
(a): The Micro & Small Enterprises – Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) is a Central Sector, demand-driven Scheme of the Ministry of MSME for establishment of Common Facility Centres (CFCs) and Infrastructure Development Projects to enhance the competitiveness of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs). The Scheme does not have any component specifically as Coimbatore-Erode-Tiruppur City Economic Region (CER).
(b): The MSE-CDP does not have any provision relating to Public-Private Partnership (PPP) reform-cum-results-based financing.
