Will the Minister of JAL SHAKTI be pleased to state:
(a) the total number of large and small dams, anicuts and other water structures proposed under the Parbati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) Project along with the names and locations, particularly in Dausa Lok Sabha Constituency of Rajasthan;
(b) the number of structures completed, under construction and pending at present along with the number of structures successfully inter-linked, particularly in the said Constituency;
(c) whether some of the proposed structures have remained unlinked due to technical, financial or administrative reasons, if so, the details thereof along with the reasons therefor and the time-bound action plan to complete the same; and
(d) the details of the areas, particularly in Dausa of Rajasthan likely to be benefitted in terms of irrigation and drinking water under this project along with the details of the potential beneficiary areas and population? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR JAL SHAKTI (SHRI RAJ BHUSHAN CHOUDHARY)
(a) to (d) Under the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed among the Governments of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and the Government of India for the Modified ParbatiโKalisindhโChambal (MoPKC) Link Project, 23 project 1components have been identified for Rajasthan covering drinking water supply, irrigation and industrial use in 17 districts of Eastern Rajasthan, including Dausa district. The details of these components are given at Annexure. As per the MoA, Rajasthan has a live storage capacity of 4,642.48 MCM with a planned utilisation of 3,309.88 MCM, comprising 205.75 MCM for industrial use, 1,744.16 MCM for drinking water purposes and 1,359.97 MCM for irrigation, corresponding to an annual irrigation potential of about 4.03 lakh hectares in the State.
The Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the MoPKC Link Project has been submitted to the Central Water Commission (CWC) for techno-economic appraisal. No structure under the MoPKC Link Project is currently under implementation by the Government of India.
