NOTIFICATION Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar, 5th January, 2026 MOTOR VEHICLES ACT, 1988.

No. G/PT/2026/01/PTD/MSM/e-file/22/2025/1316/KH:- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause (i) of clause

(d) of sub section (1) of Section 67 of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988), the Government of Gujarat, having regard to the provisions of clauses (a) to (d) of the said sub-section (1), hereby issues directions to the State Transport Authority and Respective Regional Transport Authority regarding fixing rates of fare and freight for the stage carriages operated by Surendranagar Maha Nagapalika, Surendranagar plying in the areas of Surendranagar Maha Nagapalika, specified in columns (2) and (3) of the Schedule appended to this Notification, with effect from the date of publication of this

notification in the Official Gazette, subject to the following terms and conditions, namely:- IV-A Ex.-1 1-11-2 GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, EX., 05-01-2026 [ PART IV-A

1. Fares (inclusive of the amount of tax) on passenger, if any, levied or leviable under the Gujarat Motor Vehicles (Taxation of Passengers) Act, 1958 (Bom. LXVII of 1958) for the time being in force and freights for stage carriages plying in the areas and on the routes respectively specified in columns (1) and (2) of the Schedule appended here- shall be subject to such maximum rates of fare and frights as specified against them in column (3) respectively of the said Schedule;

2. In case of any journey undertaken by a student, if no such tax is leviable, the fares for such journey shall be so adjusted as to exclude there from the amount of such tax.

3. The stage carriage operator shall be bound by the terms and conditions of the stage carriage permit as per the Act and rules made there under. In case of such breach, stage carriage permit granted shall be liable to be suspended or cancelled under section 86 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
