NOTIFICATION The draft of the following rules, further to amend the Karnataka Educational Institutions (Classification, Regulation and Prescription of Curricula, etc.,) Rules, 1995, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 145 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983(Karnataka Act 01 of 1995) is hereby published as required by sub-

section (1) of section 145 of the said Act, for the information of all the person likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft rules will be taken into consideration after fifteen days from the date of its publication in the official Gazette.

Any objection or suggestion which may be received by the State Government from any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of the period specified above will be considered by the State Government. The Objections and suggestions may be addressed to the Principal Secretary to Government, Education Department (Primary and Secondary Education), M. S. Building, Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Veedhi, Bengaluru-560001.

DRAFT RULES

1. Title, commencement and application.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Educational Institutions (Classification, Regulation and Prescription of Curricula, etc) (Amendment) Rules, 2022.

(2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Amendment of rule 3.- In the Karnataka Educational Institutions (Classification, Regulation and Prescription of Curricula, etc) Rules, 1995, in rule 3, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:- “ Provided that, If the Management which is already running primary school i.e., from classes 1 to 8 or from 6 to 8, in the same premises, submits an application for registration and recognition of class 9 and 10 in the said premises, it shall be deemed to be considered as up-gradation or continuation of education for the purpose of registration and recognition purpose only” By Order and in the Name of The Governor of Karnataka, (V.
