Parliament Question: Atal Tinkering Labs in Bihar

Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:

(a) the details of the number of Government schools in Bihar where Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs) have been set up for in line with the announcement made in the Union Budget for the year 2025- 26, district-wise;

(b) the details of the number of Government schools selected for setting up Atal Tinkering Labs in Bihar, district-wise and phase-wise;

(c) the amount of funds sanctioned, allocated and spent so far for setting up Atal Tinkering Labs in Bihar along with details of financial assistance provided to each school; and

(d) the details of the present status of facilities and training related to innovation, science, technology, robotics, artificial intelligence, printing and entrepreneurship provided to students under the said scheme? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION (SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY)

(a) to (d): The Union Government, in the Union Budget 2025–26, announced the establishment of 50,000 Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs) in Government schools over the next five years to cultivate the spirit of curiosity and innovation and foster a scientific temper among young minds. The scheme is currently under formulation in the Ministry of Education.
