Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state: the time by which the construction of Nilambar-Pitambar Singh Adivasi Degree College and University is likely to be completed in Robertsganj Lok Sabha Constituency? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION (Dr. SUKANTA MAJUMDAR) Ministry of Education is implementing Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) which is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme aimed at funding specific State government universities and colleges, so as to improve their quality by ensuring their conformity to prescribed norms and standards. The government has launched the third phase of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) in June 2023 in the form of Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA), with an outlay of Rs. 12926.10 crore for the period 2023-24 to 2025-26 to cater to needs of educationally unserved/ underserved areas.
Since the inception of the scheme, a total of 204 projects amounting to Rs. 1942.27 crore have been approved to the State of Uttar Pradesh, including 66 projects approved under PM-USHA for an amount of Rs. 1025.19 crore.
Under PM-USHA, all the proposals submitted by the State under various components were placed before the Project Approval Board (PAB) for its consideration and approval.
However, no proposal for Nilambar-Pitambar Singh Adivasi Degree College and University was submitted by the State of Uttar Pradesh. Further, under the scheme, 9 projects amounting to Rs. 35.61 crore have been approved in the Robertsganj Lok Sabha Constituency, including 3 colleges with an approved amount of Rs. 13.61 crore under the Grants to Strengthen Colleges (GSC) component of PM-USHA.
