Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES
be pleased to state:
(a) the details and the number of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) extension centres proposed, sanctioned, under construction and presently functional across the country, especially in Andhra Pradesh, district wise;
(b) whether the Government has considered increasing the number of MSME- extension centres, and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefore;
(c) whether the Government has identified any priority sectors that require MSME-extension centres, if so, the details thereof include a list of such sectors;
(d) the total funds allocated, released and utilised for MSME extension centres across the country during the last five years, year wise, State-wise and especially in Andhra Pradesh; and
(e) whether the Government has undertaken any activities to increase utilisation of MSME Extension centres across the country and if so, the details thereof and if not reasons, therefore? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (SUSHRI SHOBHA KARANDLAJE)
(a): Out of 100 Extension Centres(ECs) under the "Establishment of New Technology Centres/Extension Centres" scheme, 62 locations have been approved for establishment of ECs across the country including Andhra Pradesh. Out of 62 approved locations, 32 ECs are under implementation and 30 ECs are operational. The details are at Annexure-I.
(b): For establishment of ECs at 38 remaining locations, State Governments have been requested to provide ready to use built-up space to establish ECs as per the scheme provisions.
(c): ECs are established as per need assessment of local MSMEs in the catchment area of the locations.
(d): The details of funds allocated, released and utilised for MSME-ECs across the country including Andhra Pradesh during the last five years, year-wise, state-wise are provided at Annexure-II.
(e): To increase the utilisation of MSME-Extension Centresโ services, awareness sessions are organized. Since inception, these ECs have trained over 1.70 lakh trainees and assisted more than 3,600 MSMEs.
