(a) whether any major ports in the county has been identified or approved for development as a Green Hydrogen Hub under the National Green Hydrogen Mission;
(b) if so, the names of such ports along with the factors considered for their selection; and
(c) whether the Government has issued any guidelines or framework for the implementation of hydrogen-related infrastructure and projects at these ports, if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS (SHRI SARBANANDA SONOWAL)
(a) to (c) Under the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM), Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has recognised the following major ports as Green
Hydrogen Hubs:-
(i) Deendayal Port (Kandla, Gujarat)
(ii) V.O. Chidambaranar Port (Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu) and
(iii) Paradip Port (Odisha) The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, vide OM No. 353/12/2025-NT dated 27th June, 2025, has issued the "Revised Scheme Guidelines for setting up Hydrogen Valley Innovation Cluster (HVIC) and Green Hydrogen Hub in India" under the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM). The Annexure-3 of these revisedscheme guidelines provides for the procedure towards recognition of Green Hydrogen Hubs (Annexure).
